SMA Mutiara Persada is a national school that implements a combined development of two curriculums, the National Curriculum (Kurikulum Merdeka) and the Cambridge Curriculum.

In the Kurikulum Merdeka, students in grade 10 will study all subjects, including those from both the Science and Social Science subject groups. Specialization begins in Grade 11, where students start selecting specific subjects aligned with their intended field of study for university.

 

  1. Cambridge Curriculum

The International Class follows the Kurikulum Merdeka, integrated with the Cambridge Curriculum. The subjects offered under the Cambridge Curriculum are part of the IGCSE (International General Certificate of Secondary Education) qualification, which includes:

  • English as A Second Language
  • Mathematics
  • Biology
  • Chemistry
  • Business Studies

 

  1. International Preparation Course in Business (IPCB)

In addition to the main subjects, SMA Mutiara Persada offers the International Preparation Course in Business (IPCB) program. The aim of this program is to prepare students who wish to pursue higher education abroad, particularly in the field of business. This initiative also strengthens the school's established entrepreneurship program. Our school collaborates with the International Bilingual Education (IBE) Alliance and City College Plymouth to provide trainings for teachers and deliver the program. The program is mandatory to 10th and 11th-grade students, introducing them to 4 subjects such as:

  1. English for Academic Purposes; IELTS
  2. Introduction to Marketing
  3. Business and the Economic Environment
  4. Knowledge and Information Management

 

  1. Pancasila Student Profile Strengthening Project (P5)

In addition to the subjects mentioned above, with the implementation of the Kurikulum Merdeka, there is the Pancasila Student Profile Strengthening Project (P5). The P5 program at our school is conducted in blocks, with each theme being covered over a period of one to two full weeks. The objective of P5 is to strengthen students' character, particularly in applying Pancasila values in their daily lives. Students will complete various themes within P5 and receive a separate achievement report for each semester. Moreover, their work will be showcased in special exhibitions at the end of every semester.

 

  1. Extracurricular

In addition to the curricular activities, students are provided with a space to develop their interests and talents through extracurricular activities. There are two mandatory extracurricular activities that students must participate in, which are:

  1. Mandatory extracurricular: scouts and swimming
  2. Optional Extracurricular Activities: Cinematography, Research Class, Dance, English Club, Basketball, Choir, and Band.

 

  1. School Character/Values; RESPECT

Mutiara Persada High School also upholds the RESPECT value, which must always be instilled in students. In addition to being integrated into learning activities, these values are also instilled through various school program such as Outdoor Learning, Tolerance and Compassion Program, and Business Observation. The RESPECT value consists of:

  5. Entrepreneurship
  6. Consideration
  7. Tolerance

 

  1. Assessment

The assessment for each subjects will be conducted through:

  1. Daily assessments or tests
  2. Mid-semester exams once in every 3 months on each semester
  3. End-of-semester exams on each semester
  4. Final-year exams at the end of every academic year

 

  1. Meanwhile, for the international class, the assessment system uses the same system as the national class, adjusted to the existing Cambridge materials. Additional tests for the international class are conducted at the end of the year. After that, students will take the IGCSE exam according to the schedule set by Cambridge. We also offer the Cambridge International Certificate of Education (ICE) for Mutiara Persada High School graduates.
  2. Mutiara Persada High School has the following requirements for students to graduate:
  • Students must complete the entire learning program;
  • Students must take the exams for all subjects tested;
  • Students must obtain a minimum grade of "good" in the final assessment for all subjects within the groups of religious and moral education, civics and attitude, arts, and physical education
  • Students must be declared to have passed the Final School Examination; and
  • Students must acquire an attendance rate of 85% of the total face-to-face learning hours.
